Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Survivor Advocate to provide support and guidance to individuals overcoming trauma and adversity. This role involves offering crisis intervention, and resource navigation to empower survivors on their path to recovery. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, empathy, and experience in mental health or social services. This position is vital in fostering a safe environment where survivors feel heard, supported, and motivated toward positive change.

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and emotional support to survivors experiencing acute distress or emergencies.
  • Manage crisis situations with effective crisis management techniques, ensuring safety and stabilization.
  • Mentor survivors through recovery processes, fostering empowerment and self-efficacy.
  • Assist clients with addiction counseling referrals and behavioral health resources as needed.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of interactions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and connect survivors with community resources.
  • Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in crisis intervention, crisis management, or behavioral health settings.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse populations.
  • Compassionate approach with a commitment to empowering survivors through mentoring and support.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion, empathy, and professionalism.

Pay: From $17.50 per hour
