Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated School Speech-Language Pathologist to join our dynamic educational team. In this vital role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders among students across various age groups. Your expertise will help children develop essential communication skills, enabling them to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Qualifications
- License and Certification Qualifications: None required.
- Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology required.
- Experience Qualifications: Clinical experience in services to speech-language impaired students required.
Skills Qualifications: Knowledge of child development; ability to communicate with others in an effective and tactful manner; strong organizational skills; ability to be flexible; ability to work as an effective team member; and ability to act as a representative of Gwinnett County Public Schools.
Duties
- Conduct thorough speech and language assessments for students with suspected communication impairments, including early intervention cases.
- Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans tailored to each student’s unique needs, focusing on areas such as articulation, fluency, voice, language comprehension, and social communication.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive support strategies and consistent progress monitoring.
- Deliver engaging therapy sessions using both in-person and telehealth platforms to maximize accessibility and effectiveness for students with disabilities or those requiring specialized interventions.
- Provide training and resources for educators and families to support speech and language development within classroom activities and daily routines.
- Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, therapy sessions, progress notes, and compliance records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Stay current with advances in speech-language pathology practices, physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and medical terminology relevant to pediatric populations.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in educational or clinical settings specializing in pediatrics or early intervention programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in speech therapy techniques for individuals with speech impairments across diverse populations including those with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Prior experience conducting comprehensive speech and language evaluations utilizing standardized testing methods.
- Familiarity with multidisciplinary collaboration involving educators, healthcare providers, and families to support holistic patient care.
- Experience delivering telehealth therapy sessions effectively while managing virtual tools and platforms.
- Knowledge of anatomy related to speech production processes as well as physiology relevant to pediatric speech-language development.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology pertinent to speech-language pathology assessments and interventions.

Pay: $43.60 – $75.00 per hour
