Build a Career in a Skilled and Essential Trade
Rambo Total Pest Control is hiring motivated individuals who want more than just another job. We provide training, licensing, equipment, vehicle, and support needed to become a successful pest control professional.
No pest control experience is required. We are looking for dependable people who communicate well, enjoy solving problems, take pride in their work, and are comfortable managing their responsibilities independently.
This position offers strong earning potential, excellent employer-paid benefits, opportunities for advancement, and the chance to develop valuable skills in an essential industry.
What the Job Is Really Like
Pest control is rewarding, but it is not desk work. Technicians spend their days driving between customer homes, inspecting properties, solving pest problems, performing treatments, and helping customers feel safe and comfortable in their homes.
The work may include:
- Entering and working inside crawlspaces and attics while wearing appropriate protective equipment
- Working outdoors in heat, cold, frost, rain, and other changing conditions
- Encountering insects, rodents, deceased pests, and unsanitary conditions
- Kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Driving between appointments throughout the day
- Managing a full route with limited direct supervision
- Completing accurate service notes, inspections, and detailed documentation
- Communicating professionally with customers inside and around their homes
- Regular coaching, education, quality assurance checks, and a strong focus around maintaining quality of service and customer satisfaction
This position is not right for everyone. However, people who enjoy variety, independence, problem-solving, physical activity, and helping others often find it to be a highly satisfying career.
What You Will Be Trained to Do
You will receive extensive hands-on training to:
- Speak with customers and understand their pest concerns
- Inspect homes for pest activity, entry points, and contributing conditions
- Identify common insects, rodents, and other structural pests
- Perform pesticide applications safely and effectively
- Install and service rodent and insect control devices
- Seal pest entry points and perform minor exclusion work
- Remove and properly dispose of deceased pests
- Troubleshoot recurring or complex pest problems
- Educate customers and recommend appropriate solutions
- Complete professional and accurate service documentation
- Safely maintain your company vehicle, equipment, and inventory
Our initial technician training program is approximately two months and includes daily instruction with experienced lead and training technicians. Licensing preparation, testing, continuing education, and training time are paid by the company.
Typical Schedule
- Full-time position
- Typical hours are approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday schedules are available
- No Sundays
- Overtime may be available but is not mandatory
Technicians clock in when arriving at their first appointment and clock out when returning home. All working time is paid, including driving, meetings, training, licensing study, and vehicle maintenance.
Technicians generally report to our Puyallup office daily during the 2–3-month training period and then approximately once per week upon completion of training.
Typical Workday
Depending on the route and customer needs, a normal day may include:
- Drive from your home to the first stop of your day.
- Perform a variety of services throughout the workday, inspecting properties, troubleshooting concerns, and communicating with customers.
- Safely drive between appointments.
- Communicate with central office support staff as needed throughout the day.
- Drive your service vehicle back home once your schedule is complete
- Weekly vehicle maintenance, inventory, meetings, or restocking
- Monthly company training and all-hands meetings
