Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician / Mechanic to maintain and repair manufacturing and packaging equipment in a fast paced food production environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting mechanical systems, responding to equipment breakdowns, installing machinery, and performing repairs that support safe and efficient production operations.

The ideal candidate has hands on experience working with industrial equipment such as conveyors, motors, pumps, and packaging machinery. This role requires strong mechanical troubleshooting ability and a commitment to maintaining equipment reliability and workplace safety.

This position is best suited for mechanics who enjoy hands on troubleshooting and working directly on production equipment in an active manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Install, remove, and maintain industrial equipment including pumps, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, cables, chains, pipes, valves, tanks, and related mechanical components.

· Troubleshoot and repair food and beverage processing and packaging equipment including fillers, labelers, conveyors, and production line machinery.

· Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs to minimize production downtime and maintain equipment reliability.

· Perform equipment installation, setup, and operational support for production and facility equipment.

· Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform mechanical troubleshooting in a timely manner to restore production operations.

· Read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and mechanical diagrams to support maintenance and installation work.

· Use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring devices to identify and repair mechanical issues.

· Safely operate maintenance equipment and material handling tools including forklifts and lifting equipment when required.

· Follow all company policies, safety regulations, and regulatory requirements including GMP standards, Lockout Tagout procedures, and confined space protocols.

· Communicate equipment issues and repair status with maintenance leadership and production teams.

Required Qualifications

· High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

· Minimum two years of experience performing maintenance on industrial or manufacturing equipment preferred

· Ability to pass the Bennett Mechanical Test

· Basic math skills including understanding of geometry

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and equipment manuals

· Ability to safely operate hand tools, measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety

· Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience maintaining food or beverage processing equipment

· Experience working with packaging equipment, production lines, conveyors, pumps, and motors

· Experience operating fork trucks or other motorized lifting equipment

· Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial production environment

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular physical activity in a manufacturing environment, including:

· Standing and walking for extended periods of time

· Climbing ladders and mechanical lifts

· Reaching, bending, kneeling, and crawling to access equipment

· Squatting, twisting, and stooping while performing repairs

· Handling tools and mechanical components

· Lifting materials and equipment up to 90 pounds

· Safely moving and handling heavy mechanical objects

· Adequate vision and hearing to safely perform maintenance work

Work Environment and Equipment

Maintenance technicians regularly work with industrial maintenance tools and equipment including:

· Ladders and mechanical lifts

· Lifting equipment such as chain falls and jacks

· Fork trucks and material handling equipment

· Measuring devices including tape measures, micrometers, torque wrenches, and dial indicators

· Stationary and portable drilling equipment

· Welding equipment including welders and cutting torches

· Soldering and brazing tools

· Metal cutting tools including band saws and cut off saws

· Pipe installation equipment including threaders, cutters, reamers, and dies

· Hand tools and grinding equipment

Pay: $28.00 – $43.00 per hour
