Experienced Furniture Hand Cutter
RC Furniture is looking for an experienced Hand Cutter to join our cutting department. This position requires hands on experience cutting upholstery fabrics for furniture production.
We are looking for someone who can work independently and accurately with a variety of fabrics, patterns, and cutting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Hand cut upholstery fabric using patterns, markers, and measurements
- Cut a variety of upholstery materials
- Accurately cut matched fabrics, including stripes, plaids, and other patterned materials
- Read and follow markers, measurements, and cutting instructions
- Identify fabric direction, pattern repeats, and matching requirements before cutting
- Lay out materials to maximize fabric usage and minimize waste
- Inspect fabric for defects or inconsistencies before cutting
- Maintain accuracy when cutting pieces for sofas, sectionals, chairs, and other upholstered furniture
- Work closely with the upholstery and production departments to ensure pieces are cut correctly and on schedule
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualifications
- Previous hand cutting experience in upholstered furniture manufacturing is required
- Must have experience cutting from patterns, markers, and measurements
- Must be experienced with solid fabrics, patterned fabrics, stripes, plaids, and matches
- Strong understanding of fabric direction, repeats, and matching
- Ability to use hand cutting tools safely and accurately
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of the position
This is an experienced hand cutting position. Candidates must have previous upholstery or furniture cutting experience.
Pay: $21.00 – $25.00 per hour
