Job Overview
Arrowhead Auto Body is looking for an experienced, high-production Automotive Paint Technician to join our Hermantown, Minnesota team.
This is a production-focused position where quality is equally important. We’re looking for an experienced painter who can consistently produce high-quality work while maintaining strong efficiency in a busy collision repair environment.
You’ll work with a dedicated paint prepper and the Axalta Cromax Pro paint system, allowing you to focus on what you do best—producing consistent, high-quality refinishing work.

Schedule
Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–7:00 PM
- Two paid 15-minute breaks
- One-hour unpaid lunch
- No weekends
Compensation
$80,000–$150,000 per year earning potential
This is a flat-rate position, with earnings based on productivity.
Responsibilities
- Refinish vehicles to a high-quality standard while maintaining strong production and efficiency.
- Apply primers, basecoats, clear coats, and other automotive coatings using professional spray equipment.
- Perform color matching, tinting, and blending as necessary.
- Properly spray two-stage and three-stage finishes.
- Work closely with a dedicated paint prepper to maintain an efficient workflow through the paint department.
- Inspect prepared vehicles and panels prior to refinishing.
- Perform buffing and polishing as needed to achieve the required finished appearance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper respiratory protection and safe handling of automotive refinishing products.
- Maintain consistent quality while meeting production expectations.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of automotive painting/refinishing experience preferred.
- Strong experience in a production collision repair environment.
- Excellent automotive color-matching and blending skills.
- Experience spraying basecoat/clearcoat and three-stage finishes.
- Proficient with professional automotive spray guns.
- Familiarity with Axalta Cromax Pro is a plus.
- Ability to produce high-quality work efficiently and consistently.
- I-CAR training preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Painter must provide their own spray guns. All other required PPE will be provided.
