Veterinarian Jobs in Morton Grove, IL at EVS Pet Urgent Care of Morton Grove

Opening late 2026

What if you could practice veterinary medicine differently?

What if you could focus on the patient in front of you instead of constantly juggling wellness appointments, surgery, hospitalized patients, and emergencies?

What if you had the autonomy to practice medicine, the mentorship to keep growing, and a team that was genuinely invested in your success?

What if you could be a veterinarian without feeling like you have to sacrifice yourself to do it?

That’s what we’re building at EVS Pet Urgent Care.

We are looking for a part-time or full-time veterinarian to join our newest location in Morton Grove, Illinois, opening late 2026.

We’re not looking for someone to simply fill a position.

We’re looking for someone who wants to help us build something.

Veterinary Medicine Doesn’t Have to Be “The Way It’s Always Been”

Let’s be honest.

Veterinary medicine is changing—and not always in the ways we want.

Burnout is common.
New graduates can feel overwhelmed.
Experienced veterinarians can feel stuck.
Mentorship can be difficult to find.
Schedules are packed.
And too many veterinarians eventually ask themselves:

“Is this really what I signed up for?”

At EVS, we’re asking a different question:

What if we built veterinary medicine around the veterinarian, the team, and the patient—not the other way around?

We believe veterinary medicine can be both professionally fulfilling and sustainable.

That belief is at the heart of EVS.

We Don’t Do Everything. And That’s the Point.

EVS is 100% veterinarian-owned and operated. We are not corporate.

We created EVS to fill the space between general practice and the emergency room.

We’re an urgent care practice for pets who are sick, injured, or not feeling right and need to be seen today—but don’t necessarily require a full-service emergency hospital.

Our model is intentionally focused.

We don’t provide preventive care.

No vaccine appointments.
No routine wellness visits.
No heartworm, flea, or tick prevention.

We don’t perform surgery. We don’t hospitalize patients.

And that’s exactly what allows us to do what we do exceptionally well. Our sister clinic in Northbrook, IL has a 5-star rating on Google with over 400 reviews!

Our doctors aren’t bouncing between wellness appointments, surgeries, hospitalized patients, and critical emergencies.

They can focus on the patient in front of them.

The result?

Better medicine.
More thoughtful client communication.
More engaged teams.
More opportunities to learn.
And a veterinary experience that feels fundamentally different.

This Is More Than a Job

Morton Grove is our fifth location—but we’re still building.

That means you won’t simply be walking into an established system and being told, “This is how we do things.” Nor will you be expected to establish systems and protocols for a start up becasue we have already done this before.

You’ll have an opportunity to help shape how we do things.

We want veterinarians who are curious.

Veterinarians who ask questions.

Veterinarians who want to keep learning.

Veterinarians who have ideas.

Veterinarians who aren’t afraid to say, “There has to be a better way.”

Because that’s exactly how EVS started.

New Graduate? We’re Interested in You.

Your first job after veterinary school matters.

We don’t believe new graduates should be expected to know everything on day one.

We believe you should have:

  • Meaningful mentorship
  • Someone to ask when a case gets complicated
  • A team that supports your development
  • Opportunities to build clinical confidence
  • A safe environment to ask questions
  • The ability to grow without being thrown into the deep end alone

At EVS, asking for help isn’t a weakness.

It’s how good veterinarians become great veterinarians.

If you’re a new graduate who wants to build a strong clinical foundation while practicing meaningful medicine, we’d love to meet you.

Experienced Veterinarian? We Want to Hear From You, Too.

Maybe you’ve been practicing for five years.

Maybe fifteen.

Maybe twenty.

Maybe you still love being a veterinarian—but you’re tired of the way you’ve been asked to practice.

Maybe you’re tired of being overbooked.

Maybe you’re tired of doing everything.

Maybe you’re tired of the corporate model.

Maybe you’re simply ready for something different.

Your experience is valuable here.

We’re not interested in reinventing veterinary medicine by ignoring the people who have spent years practicing it.

We want experienced veterinarians who can bring their knowledge, perspective, and ideas—and help us make EVS better.

What You Can Expect at EVS:

Veterinarian-Owned

EVS is 100% veterinarian-owned and operated. We understand the realities of practicing veterinary medicine because we’re veterinarians, too.

Urgent Care Focused

Our defined scope allows you to focus on sick and injured patients without the competing demands of wellness, surgery, and hospitalization.

Mentorship

Whether you’re a new graduate or an experienced veterinarian learning a new model, you won’t be expected to figure everything out alone.

Clinical Growth

We want you to become more confident and capable as a veterinarian—not simply see more appointments.

Autonomy

We trust our doctors to practice medicine. You will have support without being micromanaged.

Team Empowerment

Our technicians and support team are an important part of the medical team. We want them to grow, learn, and have a voice, too.

A Voice in the Future

We’re building EVS with our teams. Your ideas and experience can actually influence how we operate.

A Different Kind of Veterinary Career

We want you to leave work knowing you made a difference—not wondering how you’re going to survive another day.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a veterinarian who:

  • Is licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Illinois or eligible for licensure
  • Is compassionate, curious, and committed to excellent patient care
  • Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team
  • Values communication and client education
  • Wants to continue developing professionally
  • Is comfortable seeing a variety of urgent care cases
  • Wants autonomy while still valuing mentorship and collaboration
  • Is interested in helping build something new
  • Believes veterinary medicine can—and should—be better

Why Morton Grove?

This is an opportunity to be part of something from the beginning.

You’ll help establish the culture of a brand-new EVS location while becoming part of a growing veterinarian-owned organization.
