Job Overview:
Our Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) agency is looking for a dedicated and community-minded Street Outreach Coordinator. This position focuses on locating individuals who may benefit from mental health support services and referring them to our in-house team. This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about connecting underserved populations with the resources they need to improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach in shelters, encampments, drop-in centers, and other community spaces to identify individuals who may benefit from mental health support
- Build rapport and educate potential clients about the ARMHS program and how it can help with transportation, budgeting, lifestyle stability, resource coordination, and housing-related support
- Assist individuals in the referral process by helping them complete initial interest forms or gathering required documents as needed
- Maintain organized records of outreach activity, contacts made, and referrals submitted
- Coordinate with local organizations, clinics, and shelters to identify individuals in need of services
- Work closely with the agency’s internal team to ensure a smooth handoff of referred clients for service delivery
- Develop and implement outreach strategies tailored to high-need areas or populations
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage compassionately with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Experience in community outreach, case navigation, or working with populations experiencing mental health, housing, or resource insecurity
- Knowledge of community resources, public programs, and mental health systems is a plus
- Reliable documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining communication with the internal team
