Position: STRATEGIC SOURCING SPECIALIST
Location: Somkele
Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI) is an independent academic institute that conducts world-class research in HIV, TB and non-communicable disease, spanning basic, clinical, social and population sciences. AHRI has recently established a clinical trials unit in an effort toward greater intervention in the communities the Institute partners with. The clinical trials unit’s focus will be driven by AHRI’s strategy, with a phase I/II experimental TB drug trial and a phase IIb/III experimental vaccine trial (TB, HIV or Covid-) initially envisaged.
All activities would be in collaboration with local and international stakeholders.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist AHRI in effecting more efficient sourcing processes to save costs and maximize value for money for the Institute.
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for providing procurement and supply chain specialist services to the Procurement Department and Institute
Negotiate with suppliers to obtain goods, materials, and services at the best prices by using strategic sourcing strategies.
REQUIREMENTS:
A valid driver’s licence is also required.
