Position Summary
The Sewing Associate is responsible for sewing and assembling tops used for rosettes and other products. This position requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to produce quality work while maintaining an efficient production pace. The employee may also be responsible for operating the pleater as needed.
Essential Responsibilities
- Sew tops for rosettes according to company specifications and established production standards.
- Operate sewing machines safely and efficiently.
- Maintain consistent stitching, seams, sizing, and overall appearance.
- Inspect sewn pieces for defects, loose threads, uneven stitching, or other quality issues.
- Follow patterns, instructions, and order specifications accurately.
- Make adjustments or corrections when necessary to ensure finished pieces meet quality standards.
- Operate the pleater as needed to produce pleated materials according to company specifications.
- Monitor pleater operation and identify issues that may affect the quality or consistency of the finished product.
- Keep sewing and pleating equipment and work areas clean and organized.
- Maintain an appropriate supply of materials at the workstation and communicate when additional materials are needed.
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Communicate any equipment problems, material issues, or quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist with other production duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous sewing experience is preferred.
- Ability to operate an industrial or production sewing machine is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, quality work.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining production and quality standards.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness and ability to learn and operate the pleater.
- Previous production experience is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods while performing sewing and production duties.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers repetitively for sewing, handling fabric, and other production tasks.
- Must be able to bend, reach, and move materials as needed.
- Must be able to safely operate sewing and pleating equipment.
- Must be able to lift and move materials and finished products as required by the position.
Work Environment
This position works in a production environment and involves repetitive sewing and assembly tasks. The employee may work with sewing machines, pleating equipment, fabric, thread, and other production materials. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workstation is an essential part of the position.
