About the Role
NorthMark Sign is seeking an experienced Senior Sign Installer & Service Technician with a current LEL license or previous electrical experience to join our installation team.
This is a hands-on role for a skilled installer who takes pride in safe, high-quality work, can troubleshoot challenging installations, and follows a job through to completion.
Interested in leadership? There is an opportunity to grow into crew leadership, training, and installation coordination. Leadership advancement is available, but not required—we also value experienced installers who want to focus on their trade.
What You’ll Do
- Install, service, and repair interior and exterior signage, including illuminated and non-illuminated signs.
- Perform electrical installation and troubleshooting within the scope of your license.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, installation plans, and site information.
- Review materials, tools, equipment, and site requirements before leaving for a job.
- Safely operate bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and other installation equipment appropriate to your training and qualifications.
- Complete site surveys, identify installation challenges, and communicate issues promptly.
- Coordinate with the installation team and office to keep work moving and resolve field questions.
- Complete installation checklists, photos, and service documentation.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment, and leave jobsites clean and orderly.
- Work outdoors throughout the year while following safe work practices.
What You Bring
- A current LEL license or extensive electrical experience.
- Strong experience or interest in installing and servicing signs, including illuminated signage.
- Ability to complete complex installations with minimal supervision while recognizing when additional direction or support is needed.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to workmanship.
- Experience reading drawings and using installation tools and equipment.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Comfort working at heights and safely handling heavy materials with appropriate equipment and team assistance.
- Dependability, clear communication, and a cooperative approach to working with others.
- Willingness to travel occasionally overnight, with hotel and per diem provided.
OSHA 10/30 training and experience with rigging, cranes, or aerial lifts are a plus.
