Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety and Compliance Officer to champion workplace safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory adherence across our operations. This vital role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs that promote a secure work environment for all employees. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of occupational health standards, environmental regulations, and safety management systems, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws. By fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement, you will help us minimize risks, prevent incidents, and uphold our commitment to employee well-being and environmental responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee safety policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and NJDEP Pesticide regulations to ensure workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, root cause analyses, and inspections at branch and field locations.
- Maintain thorough documentation of safety procedures, incident reports, training records, and compliance audits through precise report writing.
- Lead employee training programs on safety regulations such as hazardous materials handling, OSHA requirements, EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) standards, CPR/First Aid certification, and environmental health practices.
- Monitor adherence to environmental regulations including hazardous materials regulations and environmental health standards; coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections or audits.
- Investigate workplace incidents or near-misses thoroughly to determine root causes and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Stay current on updates in occupational health law, environmental compliance standards, workers’ compensation law, and other legal requirements affecting manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with management to foster a culture of continuous safety improvement through effective training & development initiatives focused on EHS (Environmental Health & Safety).
Experience
- Proven experience in green industry, industrial, construction, or manufacturing settings with a strong focus on workplace safety management and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental regulatory compliance (EPA/NJDEP), hazardous materials regulations, workers’ compensation law, and occupational health standards.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, root cause analysis, incident investigations, and report writing related to safety incidents.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver engaging training sessions on safety regulations and best practices.
- OSHA Certification Required, Pesticide licensing preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments to promote a safe working environment while ensuring compliance with all applicable legal standards.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
