Duties
- Measure and interpret construction plans and technical drawings to accurately install siding materials.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or removing old siding to ensure proper adhesion and finish.
- Install a variety of siding types including vinyl, fiber cement, wood, metal, and single-ply membrane roofing components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and safety harnesses to perform precise cuts and secure siding panels in place.
- Follow all construction safety regulations and safety protocol adherence to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to facilitate efficient installation processes.
- Perform minor roofing repairs or restoration work as needed to ensure the integrity of the building envelope.
Requirements
- Prior construction experience with a focus on siding installation or related exterior building work.
- Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations and proper use of safety harnesses and ladders.
- Familiarity with roofing repair, metal roofing, single-ply membrane roofing, and roofing techniques is a plus.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or construction plans accurately.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, caulking techniques, fabrication, concrete forming, tile laying, and metal stud framing is desirable.
- Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions with a strong emphasis on safety protocol adherence.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or climbing ladders throughout the workday.
- Additional handyman experience or construction site experience will be considered an asset.
