Job Overview:
We are recruiting for a Qualified Vehicle Spray Painter & Panel Beater to join our client’s team in Kempton Park. This is an Employment Equity position and open to such applications in line with our client’s EE strategy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for vehicle surface preparation, painting, and panel beating, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to health and safety regulations and ensure the correct use of protective gear.
Use hand and power tools effectively for vehicle preparation and repairs.
Maintain and operate the spray booth according to manufacturer guidelines.
Regularly inspect and maintain air supply equipment and ensure clean filters.
Surface preparation before painting, ensuring all imperfections are removed.
Apply paint using appropriate techniques and ensure proper colour mixing & matching.
Conduct quality checks throughout the repair process to ensure a high standard of work.
Assist with customer complaints in the absence of the workshop manager.
Mentor and guide apprentices in the workshop.
Ensure all vehicles have a job card and follow the workshop planning schedule.
Be available to work overtime and weekends when required.
Requirements:
Qualified Spray Painter / Panel Beater certification
South African Citizen
Valid Code EC or EC1 04 License
5 years of experience in a large workshop
Experience working with coaches, trucks, or heavy-duty vehicles
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and communication skills
