Job Summary

CAPIC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QCI Auditor to support our Weatherization and Heating programs. The QCI Auditor performs residential energy audits, in-process inspections, and final quality control inspections to identify energy-efficiency improvements and ensure work meets applicable program and technical requirements.

This position works closely with clients, contractors, CAPIC staff, state agencies, and utility representatives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct residential energy audits, in-process inspections, and final quality control inspections.
  • Evaluate building conditions and heating systems and identify appropriate energy-efficiency measures.
  • Perform required building and heating system diagnostics.
  • Prepare heat-loss calculations and inspect heating system installations and completed work.
  • Complete WAP and HEARTWAP assessments and related documentation.
  • Ensure contractor work complies with applicable DOE, EOHLC, utility, and program requirements.
  • Maintain accurate audit, inspection, and quality control records.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, state agencies, and utility representatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and support new and existing WAP auditors.
  • Attend required technical, program, and training meetings.
  • Stay current with applicable codes, standards, and program requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant technical training or certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy conservation, weatherization, building construction, or a related trade.
  • Knowledge of residential building systems, energy conservation practices, and building diagnostics.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer and electronic data-entry proficiency.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour
