Position Overview
Based at our Head office in Johannesburg, in order to further strengthen our global Quality team, we are currently seeking a:
QC Technologist – Johannesburg, South Africa
Reporting directly to the QC/QA Manager, the successful candidate for this key function will be responsible for:
Ensure quality, food safety, and aesthetics of the product
Follow through on set processes and ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, and product quality standards.
Key Tasks
Monitor and ensure food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Monitor critical control points (CCP).
Perform sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas as required.
Record and file all relevant logs and documentation accurately.
Perform QC analysis on raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
Participate in internal audits, GMP audits, and process verification audits.
Ensure employees follow all food safety and worker safety practices.
Educate employees on food safety and SQF standards.
Issue disciplinary actions when necessary.
Maintain lab retention samples.
Maintain sampling plans for all products.
Perform inspections on products, equipment, and machinery.
Job Requirements
Matric and Degree in BSc Science or relevant qualification.
At least 1-2 years’ experience in QC within food manufacturing.
Proficiency in English.
Good communication skills.
Computer literacy in MS Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Business and result-driven team player.
Flexible availability for night and weekend shifts.
