Intercare Century City Day Hospital (Pty) Ltd situated in Cape Town, seeks an ambitious, talented, goal-driven and self-motivated individual to fulfil the role of Theatre Unit Manager.
The purpose of the position is to co-ordinate all the functions and activities related to the provision of quality patient care in a Hospital environment, excellent service to doctors, visitors and support services in a cost effective manner, as well as motivating, supporting and optimizing staff performance and education in order to achieve optimum functioning of the unit.
CRITICAL OUTPUTS
Conform with Doctors requirements/expectations, remaining within the scope of practice as well as being patients advocates
Ensure the management of all related nursing services and activities in the unit, according to Intercare objectives, policies and procedures
Maintain effective discipline in accordance to Intercare’s Code of Conduct and disciplinary codes
Ensure safe and correct use of all equipment
Monthly monitoring of cost centre expenditure against budget
Maintain effective relationships with specialists, external bodies and associations
REQUIREMENTS
Proof of registration as a Registered Nurse with SANC
Post basic qualification in Operating Theatre technique essential
Relevant Management experience of at least 3 years
At least 5 years experience in an Operating theatre
Conflict handling & performance management skills
Proficient in MS Office
