Production Assistant (Full-time)
Job Description
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Receiving raw material orders and other supplies; verifying the accuracy of shipments received insofar as checking the item and quantity received; and stocking materials received in
· Preparing production orders, including collecting required raw materials for a production batch
· Mixing materials to manufacture the company’s coatings by following precise directions for combining high quality raw materials accurately and efficiently by using electronic gauges, valves, temperature controls, flow meters, scales, pumps or other related equipment
· Performing quality control checks using diverse equipment during the production process
· Maintaining efficiency of material additions/flow by checking and changing filters
· Pouring and canning coatings for labeling
· Labeling and boxing cans of coatings
· Packaging and palletizing product for storage in warehouse and/or shipment
· Maintaining Production Room records; and cleaning and maintaining the area and equipment
· Checking inventory supplies
· Following all safety guidelines and rules; environmental and regulatory guidelines; using all required safety equipment. Maintaining the quality and cleanliness of the work area and equipment.
· Placing hazardous waste into satellite accumulation drums; moving waste drums to the waste accumulation area for storage; ensuring the proper management of hazardous waste containers including labeling and placing lids on drums
· Maintaining forklift and other equipment by checking battery, electrical charger hook-up, and other items as applicable
· Comply with all employee health protocols/policies
· Attend and participate in employee meetings, trainings, and development as required
· Performing other duties as needed
Full-Time Position
- This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position (overtime as required to help fulfill the needs of the Company) for 2nd shift.
- On-the-job training provided as needed. This may include instruction concerning: OSHA regulations; safety practices and proper use of safety equipment; hazardous materials handling; forklift operation, and other topics
- Job Location: Lancaster, MA, United States. This is not a remote position.
- Typical work week: Monday – Friday. Saturday overtime sometimes required

Physical Abilities Required
· Must have the ability to speak clearly and have the ability to hear and understand directions and requests in English for collaborative team work
· Walking and standing on concrete and other hard surfaces for a minimum of 2.5 hours to 8 hours at a time
· Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, regularly and over 50 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance
· Reaching, twisting, bending, and kneeling, as well as climbing a ladder while carrying raw materials, finished goods, and other items
· Must have excellent fine motor skills and dexterity of wrists, hands and fingers for operating machinery, forklift and other computer programs to perform the essential functions of the position
· Distinguishing color variants
· Operating a forklift and/or order picker
· Must have the ability to work attentively and with concentration, particularly while operating forklift.
· Working effectively in an environment where there is exposure to dust, chemical vapors and liquids and other strong odors. You will be provided with appropriate safety equipment, including a uniform, respirator, and other equipment and materials to ensure safety.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum high school Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Must have reliable means of transportation to the workplace
- Ability to work in a team environment and the willingness to be cross-functional
- Excellent attention to detail
- Basic math skills, i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
- Ability to work safely and follow standard operating procedures
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to use company computer systems
- Ability to operate a forklift, including required license (training will be provided if needed)
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and hand tools
