IEA is a division of Engendren Corporation. Engendren manufactures large scale radiators/fans, sound solutions for data centers, steel and aluminum components and more that require material handling, metal fabrication, welding, and heavy assembly with pneumatic hand tools, hoists and cranes.

Compensation: $26.86 per hour to start

We invest in our employees! You have the opportunity to increase your base pay at 6, 12 AND 24 months as long as you keep good attendance!

We also offer a $500 sign on bonus– paid out based on your attendance after 480hrs of work!

Job Summary: The Lead-Cooling Section provides area leadership and direct supervision while serving as the lead worker to Cooling Section employees on a particular shift. In addition, the Lead must be able to perform all Cooling Section tasks (e.g., assembly, testing, guarding, limited unit assembly, etc.) as necessary. The Lead receives limited direction from Shift Supervisors and Production management, develops work plans by combining long-term company strategies with specific assignments, and resolves most problems independently. The Lead is responsible for the quality and quantity of all work done by the Cooling Section on the shift and is expected to follow Six Sigma principles and constantly monitor and help control labor and material costs.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 1:00pm to 12:00am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties assigned as necessary:

• Assigns work according to production schedule and assists employees in all assigned areas.
• Lead department with daily stretching and afternoon meetings
• Go over daily workload with first shift lead to keep the flow of the department working between both shifts.
• Ensure that the production team is aware of the day-to-day production output expectations.
• Initiates/reviews job orders (written or verbal) and establishes/interprets assembly specifications.
• Keeps team members informed about company rules, regulations, policies, and objectives.
• Upholds work rules, counsels employees, and initiates disciplinary measures where appropriate.
• Monitors work-in-progress and spot-checks completed work to ensure that IEA’s standards are met.
• Manage work order closures and inventory control transactions
• Advises company management on radiator assembly issues and recommends improvements.
• Troubleshoots all Cooling Section equipment and machinery problems and directs repairs.
• Identify and report any non-conforming material to quality on a daily basis, using proper company forms such as MRR’s, ECN’S.
• Directs/oversees training of all employees to maintain staff proficiency for all area tasks.
• Ensures that work areas, equipment and other tools of the trade are clean and properly maintained.
• Works in a safe manner at all times, ensures that safety rules are followed without exception and participates fully in all Company safety programs.
• Ensures that the tools in the department are properly calibrated.
• Always ensures full adherence to 6S practices.
• Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other company policies and procedures.
• Carry out incident and accident reporting in a timely manner.
• Liaise and communicate with other departments and ensure an effective interface is maintained.
• Ensures that all work is done in accordance with and adheres to IEA’s ISO and Quality standards.

• Have a basic understanding of Paint procedure, being able to mix and paint cores when needed.

Physical Demands:

• Maximum lifting requirement (pounds): 100 (occasionally), 50 (frequently).
• Maximum moving requirement (pounds): 100.
• Maintaining physical condition necessary for the following: Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, squatting, and twisting upper body; infrequent climbing or sitting.
• Working at heights off the ground up to 20 feet.
• Vision requirements: Close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception.

Work Environment:

• Work location: Cooling Section/Paint department, and shop office with computer.
• Exposure to: Fumes, airborne particles, wet/humid (non-weather) conditions, toxic/caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts/equipment, inclement weather conditions.
• Personal protective equipment requirement: Safety glasses, safety shoes. Gloves and ear protection as necessary.

Position Requirements:

• Key skills, abilities and knowledge:
• Ability to communicate and work with others and lead immediate subordinates.
• Ability to organize and direct work activities in a fast-paced, shop environment.
• Working knowledge of the specific practices and methods in radiator assembly.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to read and understand job routings, shop drawings, bills of material and blueprints.
• Knowledge of properties of the metals and related materials used in radiator assembly.
• Skill in using and maintaining assembly tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and the ability to follow safe work practices.
• Experiential: Two or more years of manufacturing experience, preferably as a lead/supervisor.
• Educational: Related technical training (high school or beyond) is desirable but not essential.
• Certificates, Licenses: Forklift operator certification.
