Press Assistant
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Pay: $17.00/Hour
Schedule: 6:45am-2:45pm Monday-Friday with OT as required
Job Type: Full-Time, Evaluation Hire
Press Assistant Job Summary: A Kentwood company is seeking a great new team member to learn the high tech world of digital print. This position would start off as an assistant and it would involve pulling work orders and plates to complete the customer’s requests. This company has a strong culture and loves to work with people that want to learn and cross train in different areas.
What You’ll Do
- Locate the customer packet and assure that the correct packet is selected
- General labor; moving boxes onto skids, some loading and unloading
- Ability to use and computer and be able to process all shipping paperwork
- Ability to set up the correct plates for the correct job
- Handle the delivery and return of the dies, print cylinders, and inks
- Mount plates for the flexographic presses
- Mix ink for upcoming jobs
- Quality checks
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to stand on feet all day
- Lift up to 50lbs on a consistent basis
- Able to read and write in English
- Able to work on a computer
- Able to see color
- Willing to train for at least a month to learn the meticulous nature of the work
- Be agile and willing to cross train in other areas
