Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Patient Engagement Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring their concerns are addressed efficiently and effectively. This remote role requires excellent communication skills, a patient-centric approach, and the ability to provide timely resolutions or escalate queries to the appropriate department when necessary. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, proactive in follow-ups, and committed to delivering a seamless patient experience.
Pay: $3 per hour
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the initial point of contact for all patient inquiries via phone, text messages, and emails.
Provide accurate and empathetic responses to patient queries regarding appointments, prescriptions, referrals, insurance, and general concerns.
Escalate complex issues to the appropriate departments, ensuring timely resolution and keeping patients informed throughout the process.
Conduct diligent follow-ups through multiple communication channels to ensure all patient concerns are addressed without delays.
Maintain professionalism and empathy in all interactions to enhance the patient experience.
Assist patients in scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments while ensuring efficient provider availability.
Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure pre-visit documentation and paperwork are completed before the appointment.
Verify insurance details and assist with prior authorization processes as needed.
Ensure timely reminders are sent to patients to reduce no-shows and improve adherence to care plans.
Accurately document patient interactions, concerns, and resolutions in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
Track and update patient follow-ups, referrals, and pending tasks to prevent delays in care.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and clinic protocols for patient data security and confidentiality.
Work closely with different departments, including Front Office, Billing, Referrals, and Medical Assistants, to streamline patient support.
Identify process gaps and provide feedback to enhance patient engagement strategies.
Contribute to the development of scripts and guidelines to standardize patient interactions and improve service quality.
Qualifications & Skills
Prior experience in healthcare customer service, medical call support, or a similar patient-facing role is preferred.
Strong communication skills with fluency in English, both verbal and written.
Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to assess situations and take appropriate action.
Attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols and documentation guidelines.
Proficiency in EHR systems and remote communication platforms is preferred.
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment, multitask, and remain patient-focused at all times.
Stable internet & electricity connection, good working tools, and a quiet workspace to handle patient calls professionally.
Schedule & Work Environment
Remote, full-time position with required availability during U.S. business hours.
Must be available to respond to patient queries in a timely and professional manner.
