POSITION SUMMARY:

Applies high-quality finishes to loudspeaker cabinets and components using paint and polyurea coating systems. Operates spray equipment and finishing processes on wood, fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), and other cabinet materials. Prior to qualification in the spray room, employees are required to become proficient in cabinet preparation and finishing operations, including sanding, filling, masking, and surface preparation. Works as part of a team while demonstrating the ability to work independently, maintain quality standards, and provide guidance to less experienced team members.

POSITION DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Become proficient in cabinet preparation and finishing operations, including sanding, filling, masking, cleaning, and surface preparation prior to qualification in spray operations.
  • Prepare work by reviewing work instructions, drawings, specifications, and production requirements; gather necessary materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Verify job requirements and ensure correct paint, polyurea materials, equipment settings, and tooling are available prior to application.
  • Prepare cabinets and components for finishing by cleaning, masking, and inspecting surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and appearance.
  • Apply paint and polyurea coatings to cabinets and components in accordance with specifications, quality standards, and required coating thickness.
  • Operate and maintain spray equipment, proportioning equipment, spray guns, and spray booths.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections to verify appearance, coverage, texture, thickness, and overall quality requirements are met.
  • Identify and correct minor coating defects and notify supervision of significant quality concerns.
  • Maintain spray booths, filters, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition; complete required production and quality documentation.
  • Follow all environmental, health, and safety requirements, including proper use of respirators, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe material handling practices.
  • Troubleshoot routine equipment and process issues and escalate more complex issues as necessary.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities and assist with equipment upkeep according to manufacturer recommendations and company procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels of paints, polyurea materials, consumables, and supplies; notify appropriate personnel when replenishment is required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company policies and 5S principles.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while supporting team objectives and assisting in training or mentoring other employees as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to learn and perform cabinet preparation, sanding, and finishing operations to company standards.
  • Ability to safely operate spray equipment and apply paint and polyurea coatings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and specifications.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators.
  • Ability to lift materials and components and stand for extended periods during the workday.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate issues promptly.

Job Type: Full-time

Rate: $20-$25/hr

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
