Extreme Steel, Inc. is a growing AISC-certified structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabricator and erector serving the DC, Virginia, and Maryland areas. We are looking for motivated, dependable individuals to join our team as Painters.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare metal and fabricated steel surfaces for painting and coating applications.
- Clean, sand, grind, and otherwise prepare surfaces to industry standards before coating.
- Apply primer and protective coatings to structural steel and metal components.
- Operate spray equipment and other painting tools as needed.
- Follow manufacturer’s Product Data Sheets and apply coatings to the proper mil thickness.
- Understand and monitor proper environmental conditions for coating applications.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain painting equipment and a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Properly use PPE and safely handle paint and other hazardous materials.
- Assist with general shop and production tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of painting experience required.
- Industrial painting or structural steel painting experience preferred.
- Experience preparing and painting metal or steel surfaces.
- Experience using spray equipment preferred.
- Ability to use grinders, sanders, sandblasters, and other painting/surface preparation tools.
- Ability to follow coating specifications and safety procedures.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule & Compensation
- Schedule: Monday – Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Saturdays as needed based on workload.
- Compensation will be determined based on experience and skill level.
