Job Title: Medical Device Assembler

Location: Scarborough, ME
Employment Type: Full-Time | 3 Month Contract | Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $23.00–$25.50/hour
Shift: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM
Overtime: Hours worked over 40 are paid at time-and-a-half

Role Overview

BEPC is seeking a Medical Device Assembler to support the production of high-quality cardiovascular medical devices for our client in Scarborough, Maine. This hands-on manufacturing role involves detailed assembly, inspection, testing, and packaging of medical devices while following established quality, safety, and production procedures.Depending on the assigned work area, this position may operate in a controlled cleanroom environment. The ideal candidate has strong manual dexterity, excellent attention to detail, and previous manufacturing or assembly experience working with small components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble cardiovascular medical devices and related components according to documented procedures and quality requirements.
  • Perform electronic, mechanical, casting/coating, adhesive bonding, and packaging operations as assigned.
  • Use microscopes, hand tools, razor blades, syringes, soldering equipment, and other manufacturing equipment as required.
  • Perform visual inspections and precision measurements on components and finished assemblies.
  • Conduct product testing using computerized test equipment.
  • Repair or correct devices and components using microscopes and applicable tools.
  • Package completed devices while verifying component accuracy and required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate production, traveler, shop-floor, and quality records to ensure product traceability.
  • Clean tools and equipment according to established procedures and properly dispose of hazardous waste in designated areas.
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures and use required safety equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives designed to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Notify the supervisor or team lead when materials need replenishment or when production issues cannot be readily resolved.
  • Support individual and manufacturing cell performance goals related to quality and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience preferred/required for this assignment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures in English at approximately a sixth-grade level.
  • Ability to understand verbal instructions and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic math skills at approximately a sixth-grade level.
  • Strong manual dexterity with the ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
  • Ability to perform detailed work requiring accuracy and close visual attention.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to use electronic data collection systems and software packages.
  • Ability to prioritize work based on job sequencing, timing, precedence, and importance.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with medical device assembly, manufacturing, cleanroom operations, microscopes, precision tools, or similar production environments is a plus.
