C & C Sales & Services, LLC is looking for an experienced Mower & Compact Tractor Technician to join our growing service department.
This is not an entry-level mechanic position. A minimum of 3 years of professional repair experience is required.
We are a locally owned and family-operated equipment dealership. We are not a large corporate shop, and our employees are not just numbers. We work closely as a team, get to know the people who work with us, and are continuing to grow our mower and compact tractor business.
We are looking for a technician who can diagnose equipment independently, not simply replace parts or perform repairs after someone else has identified the problem.
What You’ll Work On
Our service department works on a wide variety of equipment, including:
- Commercial and residential zero-turn mowers
- Stand-on mowers
- Walk-behind equipment
- Compact and subcompact tractors
- Tractor implements and attachments
- Gasoline and diesel-powered equipment
- Hydraulic and hydrostatic drive systems
We service all brands of mowers and are an authorized dealer for multiple major equipment brands. Our compact tractor work is primarily on Bad Boy Tractors.
Responsibilities
The technician in this position must be capable of independently diagnosing, repairing and servicing equipment, including:
- Hydraulic system diagnostics and repair
- Hydraulic pumps, wheel motors, cylinders, hoses and fittings
- Hydraulic pressure testing
- Reading and using hydraulic schematics
- Hydrostatic transmission and transaxle diagnosis and repair
- Diesel engine diagnostics and repair
- Diesel fuel, cooling and electrical systems
- Gas engine diagnostics and repair
- Kawasaki, Kohler and Briggs & Stratton/Vanguard engines
- Electrical troubleshooting and diagnosis
- Starting and charging systems
- Wiring, switches, relays, solenoids and safety circuits
- Use of multimeters and other diagnostic equipment
- Reading wiring diagrams and service manuals
- PTO clutches, belts, pulleys, spindles and bearings
- Mower deck and steering system repairs
- Tractor drivetrain and related mechanical repairs
- Routine maintenance and complete equipment inspections
A strong technician does more than repair the complaint written on the work order. You must be able to inspect the entire machine, identify additional problems or safety concerns, research service information when necessary, and accurately determine the cause of a failure.
REQUIRED Qualifications
Please do not apply unless you meet these requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of professional mower, compact tractor or closely related equipment repair experience
- Hands-on hydraulic diagnostic and repair experience
- Experience diagnosing hydrostatic transmissions and transaxles
- Strong electrical diagnostic ability
- Experience with gasoline engines
- Experience working with diesel-powered equipment
- Ability to diagnose problems independently
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics and service manuals
- Ability to research technical information and manufacturer service information when needed
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Stable work history and interest in a long-term position
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small service team
Applicants with only basic maintenance, oil change, blade, belt or parts-replacement experience will not meet the requirements for this position.
Schedule
- Full-time, year-round position
- Monday through Friday
- Alternating Saturdays during our primary mowing season
- Overtime opportunities available during peak season
This is primarily an in-shop technician position. There is no regular mobile service requirement. Technicians may occasionally assist our delivery driver with loading, unloading or equipment-related needs.
Pay & Benefits
- $20–$35 per hour
- Hourly position — not flat rate
- Pay based on experience, diagnostic ability, technical knowledge, certifications and demonstrated skill level
- Overtime available during peak season
- Paid holidays after 60 days
- PTO eligibility after one year in accordance with company attendance and employment policies

We invest in training our technicians. Our team attends yearly engine schools, and additional training opportunities are available through the equipment manufacturers and brands we represent.

Pay: $20.00 – $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
