Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Mold Remediation Technician to join our environmental restoration team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, removing, and preventing mold growth in residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mold remediation processes, safety protocols, and restoration industry standards. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of affected areas to identify mold presence and extent of contamination
- Perform mold removal using appropriate cleaning techniques, including the use of hand tools and power tools
- Apply industry-standard remediation practices, including containment, cleaning, and decontamination procedures
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respiratory protection and safety gear to ensure safety during all operations
- Operate company vehicles responsibly for on-site assignments and emergency response situations
- Assist with water damage restoration, flood recovery, fire restoration, and asbestos abatement as needed
- Prepare detailed reports using Xactimate or similar estimating software for insurance claims and project documentation
- Follow strict safety protocols to minimize health risks associated with mold spores and hazardous materials
- Maintain cleanliness of work sites through proper cleaning techniques, including carpet cleaning when necessary
- Support emergency response readiness by being available for on-call coverage during after-hours or urgent situations
Skills
- Proven experience in the restoration industry with a focus on mold remediation and water damage repair
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures including respiratory protection, PPE use, and hazardous material handling
- Familiarity with construction processes and the use of hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment
- Ability to operate company vehicles safely and responsibly in various environments
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients during stressful situations
- Experience with Xactimate or similar estimating software for project costing and documentation
- Knowledge of asbestos abatement procedures is a plus but not required
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while adhering to safety protocols
