Machine Operator – Rough Mill Jobs in Bradford, VT at Copeland Furniture
Full-Time | $680–$845 per week
Copeland Furniture is looking for an experienced Machine Operator / Sawyer to join our Rough Mill team. This is a hands-on woodworking position for someone who understands hardwood, has experience operating saws or woodworking machinery, and can make sound decisions about lumber quality and material use.
We’re looking for someone who can contribute from the start while continuing to build their knowledge of lumber grading, GreCon equipment, and Rough Mill operations.

What You’ll Do:
- Operate saws and other Rough Mill woodworking machinery
- Read cut lists and evaluate hardwood for quality, defects, and usable material
- Set up and adjust equipment for accurate, efficient production
- Make cutting decisions that support quality and effective lumber use
- Learn and operate GreCon and other Rough Mill equipment
What We’re Looking For:
- Sawyer, Rough Mill, or woodworking machine operation experience
- Experience working with hardwood and understanding lumber characteristics
- Mechanical aptitude and experience setting up or adjusting machinery
- Ability to read measurements, cut lists, and production specifications
- Good judgment, attention to detail, and dependable work habits
Experience with lumber grading, lumber optimization, GreCon equipment, or similar systems is a plus, but not required.
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, starting at 5:45 AM
- 8+ hour shifts
- Occasional Saturday mornings as needed
Pay:
- $680.00–$845.00 per week
