Supply Chain Operations Planner planning the movement of raw materials and finished products.
POSITION INFO :
This exciting position is based in Johannesburg and suitable if you have at least 5 years experience in Supply Chain Logistics planning. Use minimum stock levels, the Demand Plan, the Production Plan, the Material Plan and ad hoc requests / requirements as an input to plan the movement of raw materials and finished product between national company production sites and sales branches in order to meet Production and Sales requirements.
Requirements :
Matric with relevant Commercial / Operations qualification
SAPICS / CIPS certification to your advantage
5 years plus experience in Supply Chain / Logistics planning
Food / food ingredient manufacturing experience – to your advantage
Broader planning / supply chain experience / exposure preferred
Advanced ERP operating and planning skills
Advanced EXCEL skills
Duties :
Stock level Optimization:
Ensure optimal stock levels to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs between national company production sites and sales branches by generating Supply Chain Transfers.
Replenishment Planning:
Develop and execute plans to replenish inventory efficiently.
Safety Stock Management:
Determine and maintain appropriate safety stock levels to buffer against uncertainties.
Supplier Management:
Liaise with local and international suppliers / transport to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
Shipping and Transportation:
Arrange for the transportation of goods, considering costs, speed and reliability.
Import / Export Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all regulations and documentation requirements for imported goods.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with other departments, such as production, finance and customer service to ensure a cohesive supply chain strategy.
Supplier Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, such as supplier reliability and geopolitical issues.
Order Fulfilment:
Ensure that customer / branch orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
Customer Communication:
Maintain clear and proactive communication with customer / branches regarding order status and any potential issues.
Issue Resolution:
Quickly address and resolve any issues related to logistics and delivery.
Reporting to include but not limited to:
Inventory Levels, Shipping Schedules and Saving and Cost Reduction reports.
