About the Role
Freedom Tools is looking for a Live Commerce Production Assistant to work behind the scenes during our live selling shows.
Think of this role as the organizational counterpart to the live show host.
While the host is focused on entertaining the audience, selling products, and keeping the energy high, the Production Assistant is focused on making sure the details of the show stay accurate, organized, and moving.
You’ll work at a computer alongside the host, managing the sales-related mechanics of a fast-moving live auction.
You are essentially the host’s behind-the-scenes partner—helping manage products, customer requests, giveaways, notes, and the dozens of small details that need to be handled correctly during a live show.
We can teach you our software.
What we cannot teach as easily is focus, attention to detail, composure, and the ability to keep track of multiple things happening at once.
What You’ll Do
During a live show, you may be responsible for:
- Adding upcoming products into the auction queue before they are sold
- Managing products during the show
- Keeping detailed, accurate notes about completed sales
- Recording product-specific information such as sizes, colors, models, or variants
- Tracking customer requests made during the stream
- Keeping clear records
- Monitoring portions of the live chat for information relevant to the host
- Communicating important information to the host through notes, chat, or quiet verbal communication
- Helping coordinate with warehouse staff or product runners when necessary
- Keeping the host aware of important customer requests or sales details without disrupting the flow of the show
- Helping maintain an organized record of what is happening throughout the live auction
During a busy show, you may need to accurately record or process 100+ pieces of information per hour while simultaneously following the live auction.
The Person We’re Looking For
1. Culture Fit
This is our most important hiring criteria.
We are building a company around faith, family, community, hard work, service, generosity, and respect for others.
You need to:
- Treats coworkers and customers with respect
- Works hard even when nobody is watching
- Takes responsibility for mistakes
- Is coachable
- Can maintain professional language and behavior in the workplace
Character matters here.
2. Exceptional Focus and Attention to Detail
The biggest responsibility in this job is simply not losing track of the details.
One missed note can create confusion later.
For example, if a customer buys a product and donates it back for a giveaway, we need to know exactly:
- Who purchased it
- What the product was
- What variation they purchased
- That it was donated
- What needs to happen with it next
If you naturally notice details other people miss, this may be a great role for you.
3. Ability to Multitask Under Pressure
Our live shows move quickly.
At any given moment:
- A product may be selling
- The host may be asking you a question
- Someone in chat may make a request
- A warehouse employee may be bringing the next product
- A giveaway may need to be launched
- A customer may donate an item
- The next auction may need to be queued
You need to be able to calmly determine:
What needs my attention right now?
And then move to the next task without losing track of the previous one.
Technology Experience
You do not need previous experience with:
- Whatnot
- TikTok
- Live commerce
- Ecommerce
- Auctioneering
We will train you.
However, you should be above average with computers, websites, and general technology.
If you are comfortable quickly learning new websites, software, and digital workflows, you should be able to learn the tools required for this position.
Communication Style
This role requires someone who is comfortable speaking up when necessary without trying to become the center of attention.
You should be able to quietly tell the host:
- “That customer requested the next one.”
- “That one was donated.”
- “We need the size.”
- “The giveaway is ready.”
- “That customer bought the blue version.”
You are there to support the host—not compete with the host.
The best Production Assistants will learn how to communicate important information quickly, calmly, and discreetly while the show continues.
Experience
No specific professional background is required.
Someone could potentially be great at this job coming from:
- Retail
- Restaurants
- Warehousing
- Gaming
- Office administration
- Customer service
- Ecommerce
- Events
- Logistics
- Hospitality
Or something completely unrelated.
We care much more about how your brain works and how you approach responsibility than where you worked before.
Schedule
Our live shows currently operate Monday through Saturday.
Candidates should have availability for shifts that may fall between approximately:
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
or
4:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Schedules will vary based on show needs.
Compensation
$25–$30 per hour
Overtime may be available depending on scheduling and business needs.
This Job Might Be Perfect for You If…
You are the person who:
- Notices when something doesn’t add up
- Keeps a dozen browser tabs organized
- Likes checklists
- Remembers the detail everyone else forgot
- Can listen to a conversation while entering information into a computer
- Doesn’t panic when things get busy
- Gets satisfaction from keeping things organized
- Likes being an important part of a team without needing to be the person in the spotlight
The host may be the person everyone sees.
Your job is to make sure everything happening behind the host actually works.
If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
