We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Telecommunications Lineman to support the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial and underground telecommunications infrastructure. This position is responsible for performing field work related to fiber optic and copper network systems, including pole transfers, strand placement, cable installation, and network maintenance activities.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in outdoor environments, climbing poles, operating bucket trucks, and following all applicable safety and utility regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair aerial and underground telecommunications systems
- Perform strand, lashing, fiber, and copper cable installation
- Complete pole transfers and assist with make-ready construction activities
- Climb utility poles and work from bucket trucks at varying heights
- Read and interpret construction prints, staking sheets, and utility maps
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely
- Perform fiber placement, grounding, bonding, and cable testing activities
- Ensure all work is completed according to company, customer, and OSHA safety standards
- Conduct daily vehicle and equipment inspections
- Maintain accurate production and work completion documentation
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, crews, utilities, and project managers
- Travel to project locations as required
Qualifications
- Previous telecommunications or utility line experience preferred
- Experience with aerial fiber construction strongly preferred
- Ability to climb poles and work at heights
- Knowledge of basic telecommunications construction practices
- Ability to read and interpret utility prints and construction documents
- Valid driver’s license required
- CDL preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to safety and detail
Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- First Aid / CPR Certification
- Pole Climbing Certification
- CDL Class A
Pay: $29.68 – $35.74 per hour
