Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated LICENSED ASBESTOS HANDLER to join our environmental safety and remediation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely managing asbestos-containing materials during inspection, removal, and disposal processes. Your expertise will ensure strict adherence to environmental regulatory compliance, OSHA safety standards, and hazardous materials handling protocols. Responsibilities

  • Conduct asbestos inspections to identify hazardous materials in various building structures
  • Execute asbestos abatement procedures using approved methods and hand tools to safely remove or contain asbestos materials
  • Implement asbestos decontamination procedures to prevent cross-contamination during and after removal activities
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) effectively, including respiratory protection, to ensure safety during hazardous materials handling
  • Follow all hazard communication protocols in accordance with hazardous materials regulations and OSHA standards
  • Assist in demolition, restoration, and mold remediation projects by properly handling hazardous materials and ensuring environmental compliance
  • Maintain detailed records of asbestos abatement activities, disposal logs, and safety inspections in compliance with regulatory agencies

Skills

  • Valid license as an asbestos handler with demonstrated experience in asbestos abatement and inspection
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to hazardous materials handling and environmental compliance
  • Familiarity with environmental regulatory compliance requirements for asbestos and other hazardous substances
  • Experience using hand tools for demolition, removal, or containment of asbestos-containing materials
  • Ability to perform asbestos inspection assessments accurately and thoroughly
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations governing the safe handling, transportation, and disposal of asbestos
  • Proficiency in implementing asbestos abatement procedures while adhering to strict safety protocols including respiratory protection measures
  • Background in construction or restoration work with exposure to hazardous material handling and demolition activities
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions for asbestos decontamination procedures and environmental safety practices
