Positions exist for the use and application of Firefighters within the Fidelity Group to respond and deal with any and all fire related incidents.
Main Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responding to fires, rescues and related emergency and non-emergency humanitarian incidents.
Responding to incidents involving hazardous substances.
Extricating and/or releasing casualties and carrying out emergency operations as directed.
Resuscitating and treating injured persons.
Operating a range of equipment to control, manage and extinguish fires.
Participating in training drills, simulation exercises and physical fitness training as directed.
Conducting health and safety inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
Completing computerized occurrence logs to maintain proper records.
Driving and operating a range of heavy and extra heavy specialized vehicles/appliances.
Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Qualifications, Experience And Other Competencies
Required:
Grade 12 as a minimum school qualification.
IFSAC Accredited.
NFPA 1001 Firefighter 2 certification.
Firefighter II Certification.
At least 2 – 3 years related experience.
Valid code C1 driver’s license with PrDP.
Advanced driving experience advantageous.
Medically and physically fit.
Clear criminal record.
Core Competencies:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Sound understanding of Hazmat guidelines.
Knowledge of firefighting systems.
