We are seeking a highly-skilled Lead Technician / Residential Contractor to join our growing team. This is a professional, full-time role for an experienced craftsman who takes pride in their work and can be trusted to handle a wide range of residential repair and renovation projects from start to finish.
As a Lead Technician, you will represent J&S Construction on job sites, ensuring that each project is completed with excellence, integrity, and professionalism—whether it’s a standard repair or a complex restoration project involving water, fire, or storm damage.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a wide range of residential and restoration projects from start to finish.
- Restoration: Work on fire, water, and storm-damaged homes — performing demolition, tear-outs, drying prep, and rebuilds.
- Interior: Drywall repair/finishing, basic plumbing & electrical, trim and finish carpentry, cabinet install/adjustments, flooring (tile, LVP, hardwood, vinyl, carpet), and painting/staining.
- Exterior: Roof and gutter repairs, minor siding, decks & fences, doors & windows, and general exterior maintenance.
Deliver quality, efficiency, and professionalism on every project—representing J&S Construction’s commitment to craftsmanship and integrity.
Qualifications
- Experienced, self-motivated professional with 2+ years in residential construction, renovation, or handyman work. Must bring a broad skill set, strong work ethic, and the ability to take ownership of each project from start to finish.
- Skilled in repairs, rebuilds, and restoration work (fire, water, storm).
- Owns and maintains full professional toolset and reliable truck/van (clean record).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Professional, courteous, and able to work independently while keeping a clean, safe site.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and commitment to best practices.
- Physically able to lift up to 100 lbs., perform overhead work, and work in varied conditions.
