The Laser Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC laser cutting machines to produce precision-cut metal parts used in the manufacturing of trailers
Duties & Responsibilities
Operate CNC laser cutting equipment to cut metal components for trailer frames, decks, sidewalls, and other structural elements.
Interpret production drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine job specifications.
Perform machine setup, including loading programs, adjusting parameters, and securing raw materials.
Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
Identify and report any quality issues or material defects to supervisor.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding production status and issues.
Performing any other ad hoc tasks as required by management.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for operating bending machines and handling materials.
Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or deviations and perform basic maintenance.
Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisor.
Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Matric (Essential)
Proven experience as a Laser Operator or in a similar role.
Knowledge of laser cutting techniques, machine setup, and operation.
Training in basic machine operation and maintenance.
