Landscape Crew Lead / Foreman
Total Turf Care is hiring an experienced Landscape Crew Lead/Foreman to oversee landscape projects and lead a crew in producing high-quality work.
This position is responsible for directing the crew, organizing daily work, maintaining project timelines, and ensuring every job meets our quality standards. The foreman must understand project plans, make appropriate field adjustments, communicate clearly, and take ownership of each job from start to finish.
Projects may include:
- New landscape installations and renovations
- Planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plant material
- Landscape edging, mulch, decorative rock, and weed barrier
- Grading, drainage, sod, and seeding
- Retaining walls and hardscape features
- Water-feature installation and renovation
- Other outdoor construction and property-improvement projects
Primary responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and direct a landscape crew
- Plan daily work and assign tasks effectively
- Keep projects on schedule and within planned labor hours
- Ensure work is completed correctly and meets company standards
- Read and follow project plans, estimates, and job instructions
- Identify field conditions and make reasonable project adjustments
- Communicate changes, concerns, and material needs to management
- Complete required paperwork, time tracking, job notes, and photos
- Maintain an organized, professional, and safe jobsite
- Inspect tools, vehicles, and equipment and keep them in good working condition
- Report damage, maintenance needs, and safety concerns promptly
- Communicate professionally with customers when needed
Requirements:
- At least two years of landscaping, construction, or related outdoor work experience preferred
- Previous crew-leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely operate trucks, trailers, skid steers, mini skid steers, compactors, trenchers, and common landscape equipment
- Ability to read landscape plans, measurements, job instructions, and material lists
- Basic math skills for measuring areas, calculating quantities, and tracking labor hours
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage employees respectfully while holding the crew accountable
- Ability to recognize quality concerns and correct problems before leaving the jobsite
- Ability to complete accurate paperwork and use a smartphone for time tracking, job notes, and photos
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to bend, kneel, climb, walk, and perform physical work throughout the day
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, wind, and other changing weather conditions
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation to work
- Willingness to work occasional overtime or extended hours when project schedules require it
- Commitment to safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment
- Must pass any required pre-employment screening
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with grading, drainage, planting, irrigation, water features, retaining walls, or hardscaping
- Experience towing and backing trailers
- Knowledge of plants, landscape materials, and proper installation practices
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot common jobsite problems
- Commercial driver’s license or other relevant certifications are a plus

Pay: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour
