Full Job Description
The Donald Brown Group, a leading name in the salt industry, is seeking a dynamic Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Upington. We are looking for a well-organised individual who is eager to grow within a fast-paced work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with the Marketing Team with a primary focus on debtors’ invoicing.
Perform ongoing analysis on sales prices, product margins, and overall profitability.
Capture and reconcile daily financial transactions.
Conduct bank and cash reconciliations.
Manage petty cash.
Process and reconcile debtors and creditors.
Assist with all SARS-related matters (including VAT, PAYE, and other compliance requirements).
Support with month-end processes and financial reporting.
Perform general financial duties up to the trial balance.
Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
Knowledge and Skills
B.Com degree in Accounting.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
Computer literacy: Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Knowledge of Xero and CINCORE 7 will be an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and continuously improve.
Salary package: Negotiable, depending on experience and qualification.
