The Technical Support Team is responsible for the design, supply, installation, support and maintenance of the IT Systems within the company as well as for its clients, within South Africa and abroad.
The Support Specialist contributes to the efforts of the team by providing IT support and assistance across all aspects of the business, strengthening the team through applying his/her experience, certification, and skills.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Support and maintain the Linux and Microsoft Server, Microsoft Desktop operating environments.
Remote Desktop Terminal Services, LAN and WAN technologies, Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
Support and maintain Kubernetes environments.
Support and maintain database systems.
General maintenance of all IT-related hardware and software.
Requirements:
Certification / accreditation in Microsoft/Linux core competencies.
Certification/ accreditation or experience with proven competency in Kubernetes.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a server/client environment or similar position.
Advantageous:
A completed tertiary qualification in a technical IT field or
B.Tech. Software development.
Certification or experience with proven competency in electronics such as traffic control and vehicle barrier automation as well as CCTV/ANPR camera integration with IT systems.
Experience in writing technical reports and price calculations.
This position will require extensive travelling within Africa as well as availability to be on stand-by after normal working hours as well as weekends. Immediate availability desirable but not critical.
