MAINTENANCE LABOR
The position of Maintenance Labor requires an individual who is hardworking, able to work independently, able to work safely, and take direction. The maintenance team performs general tasks to maintain all general building, grounds, and equipment
The duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Knowledge or ability to quickly and safely learn general residential maintenance.
- Basic knowledge or ability to learn plumbing and electrical systems for residential property maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge or ability to learn operation and maintenance of power equipment. Examples include operation of snow removal equipment, lawn trimming equipment, small appliance installation and repair, apartment clean out and installation of new residential fixtures or repair of existing fixtures. General residential apartment cleaning and maintenance.
- Repair of locks, door closers, sash, and storm/screen doors and windows.
- Routine maintenance and cleaning of heating, ventilating equipment and controls.
- Knowledge or ability to learn to repair of plastered walls and ceilings with paint, drywall compound, sanding, etc.
- Knowledge or ability to learn operation of simple machine and power tools in a safe and responsible fashion.
- Performing all other general maintenance duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Work will be preformed predominantly in the Kulpmont and Mount Carmel, PA locations. At least one week per month of available emergency, after hours on call is expected. Examples of reasons for emergency calls are no heat, no hot water, water leaks.
Additional compensation is provided for on call week in addition to overtime pay for hours over 40 per week. Typical working hours are 7:00am 3:00pm Monday thru Friday. Average work week is 37.5 hours. The Housing Authority of Northumberland County observes all major government holidays as paid days off in addition to paid sick and vacation time.

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour
