SUMMIT GRANITE STONE AND CABINET DESIGN is hiring an experienced Bridge Saw Cutter to join our growing fabrication team. We are looking for a skilled, safety-focused, dependable stone professional with at least 2 years of verifiable professional experience operating a manual bridge saw in the countertop and stone fabrication industry.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum 2 years of professional semi-automated bridge saw cutting experience in the stone countertop industry
- Experience cutting granite, quartz, quartzite, marble, dolomite and similar countertop materials
- Strong understanding of manual bridge saw setup, operation, positioning and cutting techniques
- Ability to accurately read shop drawings, measurements, cut sheets, layouts and fabrication instructions
- Ability to properly position slabs and pieces before cutting and verify dimensions before and after each cut
- Experience making straight cuts, angled cuts, miters, backsplash strips and other countertop components
- Ability to identify natural stone characteristics such as fissures, cracks, veins and weak areas that may affect cutting
- Knowledge of blade condition, cutting speeds, water flow and proper machine operation
- Ability to safely operate overhead lifting equipment, slab handling equipment, carts and fabrication tools
- Ability to safely handle and move heavy and fragile stone with appropriate equipment and team assistance
- Ability to recognize when additional support, equipment or team handling is required
- Ability to inspect finished cuts for accuracy, chipping, damage and overall fabrication quality
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with coworkers and supervisors and understand production and safety instructions
- Reliable transportation and authorization to work in the United States
PAY, SCHEDULE & BENEFITS
$27–$32/hour, based on verified experience and demonstrated skills | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- 40-hour standard workweek; two 15-minute paid breaks and one 30-minute unpaid lunch
- 5 days PTO and 5 paid holidays
- Approved overtime when appropriate; all hours worked are recorded and paid

Occasionally, production requirements or priority projects may require work beyond normal operating hours. Employees are expected to work with the fabrication team to properly complete or safely secure production. All time worked will be recorded and paid.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate the semi-automated bridge saw safely, accurately and efficiently
- Review production drawings, layouts and measurements before beginning fabrication
- Verify slab material, color, thickness, job number and required dimensions before cutting
- Inspect slabs before cutting for cracks, fissures, defects and areas requiring special handling
- Properly position, secure and support slabs before making cuts
- Measure and verify each piece to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Cut countertop pieces, islands, vanities, backsplashes and other stone components according to production requirements
- Coordinate with CNC operators, polishers and other fabrication personnel to maintain proper production flow
- Clearly mark pieces and maintain accurate job identification throughout fabrication
- Report drawing discrepancies, damaged material, dimensional concerns or fabrication problems before proceeding
- Perform basic bridge saw inspections and routine operator maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe bridge saw work area
- Follow Summit Granite fabrication procedures, quality standards and safety requirements
- Work closely with the fabrication lead, measurement team and production personnel to ensure job information is transferred accurately, transparently and completely
PERFORMANCE, QUALITY & SAFETY
Bridge Saw Cutters are expected to maintain strong production efficiency while consistently producing accurate, fabrication-ready stone pieces.
Production expectations will depend on project complexity, material type, slab condition and fabrication requirements. Speed is important, but accuracy, material protection and safety always come first.
Safety and quality are non-negotiable. We follow applicable OSHA safety requirements, established stone-handling procedures and required PPE. Bridge Saw Cutters must use proper judgment, equipment and team-handling methods to prevent personal injury, equipment damage and material breakage.
INTERVIEW PROCESS
Qualified candidates will complete a telephone interview followed by an in-person interview at our West Allis facility, where bridge saw experience, measurement knowledge, stone-handling practices and fabrication skills may be evaluated.
Candidates may be asked to demonstrate their ability to:
- Read a countertop shop drawing or cut sheet
- Verify dimensions
- Explain slab positioning and cutting sequence
- Identify potential fabrication risks
- Demonstrate safe bridge saw and material-handling practices
All new hires must complete required employment eligibility verification.
