Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Dozer/Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating bulldozers and other heavy machinery, that can grade +/-.10. This role requires a strong understanding of site operations and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members on-site. You must have the initiative to build projects efficiently with a crew or on your own with a site laborer.
Duties
- Maintain clear communication with team members regarding project progress and any potential issues.
- Operate Dozers and other heavy equipment to install roads, building pads, lots, swales, slope ponds and other site development tasks using GPS, rotary lasers, and string lines.
- Must be able to understand grade stakes and basic math and percentages involved in grading.
- Read and understand blueprints a plus.
- Check and fill fluids on equipment.
- Take instructions from Foreman and coordinate with crew members on project tasks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bulldozer operation; additional experience with loader operation, grader operation, or water truck operation is preferred.
- Ability to navigate construction sites safely while operating heavy equipment.
- Valid commercial driving license (CDL) is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and on diverse terrain types.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
- GPS experience a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and transportation required.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen, including marijuana.
