Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Pool Tile/Coping Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing high-quality tile and coping around residential and commercial swimming pools, ensuring durability, aesthetic appeal, and compliance with safety standards. Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute tile and coping installations.
- Prepare pool surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary materials for optimal adhesion of tiles and coping.
- Measure dimensions precisely using tape measures and other tools to ensure accurate placement of tiles, coping stones, and related materials.
- Install various types of tiles, coping stones, and trim carpentry elements around pools using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.
- Follow safety protocols including ladder use, heavy equipment operation when necessary, and proper handling of construction materials.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, plumbers, electricians, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of all construction phases.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work progress using Bluebeam or similar digital tools; review schematics and blueprints regularly for accuracy.
- Perform quality inspections to verify adherence to blueprint specifications, building codes, and industry standards; address any discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in remodeling or restoration projects related to pool areas as needed; contribute to gutter installation, plastering, stucco finishing or concrete forming when required.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
Skills
- Extensive experience with tile masonry installation specifically around pools including coping and trim carpentry.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles including estimating costs and managing project timelines.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and fabrication techniques relevant to tile laying and masonry work.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam software for digital plan review and documentation management.
- Ability to perform dimensional measurements accurately using tape measures and other precision tools.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems related to pool installations, roofing considerations like gutter installation or flashing as needed.
- Experience with construction inspection processes ensuring compliance with safety standards and blueprint specifications.
- Capable of following detailed schematics for fixture installation or custom fabrication projects within the pool environment.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members alike.
- Experience in remodeling projects involving plastering, stucco finishing or concrete finishing techniques.
