Experienced Pool Service Technician
Malatesta Pool Service is looking for an experienced, dependable Pool Service Technician to join our growing team in Contra Costa County.
We are an established residential pool service and repair company that takes pride in providing high-quality work and exceptional customer service. We are looking for someone who already has professional pool service experience, can work independently, and takes pride in doing the job right.
This is a full-time, year-round position.
Pay
$25–$35+ per hour, depending on experience and abilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform weekly maintenance on residential swimming pools
- Test and balance pool water chemistry
- Brush, skim, vacuum, and maintain pools as needed
- Clean skimmer baskets and pump baskets
- Perform routine filter cleanings
- Inspect pool equipment and identify problems or needed repairs
- Diagnose and perform minor repairs, including pool cleaner repairs, salt systems, pumps, motors, valves, and basic plumbing
- Communicate professionally with customers
- Maintain accurate service records using company software
- Keep company truck, tools, and equipment clean and organized
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional pool service experience
- Strong knowledge of swimming pool water chemistry
- Familiarity with residential pool pumps, filters, heaters, automation, salt systems, and related equipment
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot common pool and equipment problems
- Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors year-round
- Reliable, punctual, honest, and detail-oriented
- Professional appearance and strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily route efficiently
Preferred Qualifications
- CPO certification
- Experience with Pentair, Jandy, and Hayward equipment and automation systems
- Experience performing pool equipment installations and plumbing repairs
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
