Job Overview
Clarus Windows is looking for dependable, hard-working individuals to join our growing Christmas Lights division for the 2026 holiday season.
As a Christmas Light Installer, you’ll work alongside our Christmas Lights Manager and installation team to professionally install custom holiday lighting displays on homes and commercial properties throughout the Twin Cities.
No Christmas light installation experience is required. We’ll provide hands-on training and teach you our installation systems. We’re looking for people who are comfortable working outdoors and at heights, take pride in their work, show up reliably, and enjoy working as part of a team.
This is a great seasonal opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to learn a new skill while earning competitive pay during the fall and holiday season.
What You’ll Do
- Install professional Christmas lighting on residential and commercial properties
- Work safely from extension ladders and on roofs
- Install roofline lights, trees, shrubs, wreaths, garland, and other holiday décor
- Measure, cut, and customize commercial-grade Christmas lighting to fit each property
- Safely run extension cords, timers, and electrical connections
- Troubleshoot and repair lighting when necessary
- Follow installation plans and direction from the Christmas Lights Manager and crew leaders
- Work efficiently as part of a two- or three-person installation crew
- Protect customers’ homes, landscaping, gutters, and property throughout the installation
- Maintain clean and organized trucks, ladders, tools, and lighting equipment
- Return to properties for service calls or adjustments when needed
- Assist with Christmas light takedowns and organization after the holiday season
What We’re Looking For
No previous Christmas light installation experience is required.
The right person will:
- Be dependable and show up on time every day
- Be comfortable working on ladders and roofs
- Be comfortable working outdoors in cold Minnesota fall and winter weather
- Be physically capable of carrying and setting extension ladders and working on their feet throughout the day
- Follow safety procedures and instructions consistently
- Have strong attention to detail
- Take pride in leaving behind clean, professional-looking work
- Work well with a team
- Maintain a positive attitude even during long or challenging days
- Be willing to learn and improve throughout the season
Experience in window cleaning, roofing, construction, landscaping, exterior maintenance, ladder work, or other hands-on trades is helpful but not required.
A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are preferred.
Schedule
This is a seasonal position running from early September through early to mid-December. We are looking for candidates who can commit to working through the full Christmas light installation season.
Hours may vary depending on weather and installation demand. Candidates should be prepared for full workdays and occasional schedule adjustments during the busiest portion of the season.
Additional work may be available during Christmas light takedown season in January.
Pay & Growth
Starting pay: $20–$24/hour depending on experience and applicable skills.
Someone with no previous Christmas light installation experience should expect to start near the beginning of the range.
Seasonal Christmas Light Installers are eligible for a $500 completion bonus for successfully completing the full agreed-upon Christmas light installation season.
We believe increased responsibility should come with increased opportunity. Installers who demonstrate strong attendance, safety, quality, efficiency, and the ability to work independently will have opportunities to earn higher pay and take on additional responsibility.
Strong performers may also have opportunities for future seasonal or year-round positions with Clarus Windows.
