We are seeking a motivated Dock and Door Installation and Repair Technician to join our dynamic team. This role is vital in ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and repair of loading dock equipment and doors across various construction sites and facilities. You will be instrumental in maintaining safety standards while enhancing operational efficiency for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain dock levelers, overhead doors, sectional doors, and related hardware using hand tools and power tools.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and fabrication instructions to ensure precise installation and repairs.
- Conduct glass installation, fixture installation, cabinet installation, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and caulking to complete projects efficiently.
- Perform electrical work related to door operators or safety sensors while adhering to building code compliance standards.
- Use welding techniques for metal repairs or fabrication tasks as needed on-site or in the shop.
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately interpret project requirements on construction sites.
- Lift heavy materials safely during installations or repairs while following proper safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with door installation, door hanging, glass installation, or mechanical repair within construction or remodeling environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading.
- Knowledge of building code compliance related to commercial doors and dock equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Construction site experience with familiarity in framing, drywall, metal stud framing, or remodeling projects preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach when interacting with clients during installations or repairs.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or in confined spaces as required.
