Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support residents with medication administration and monitor vital signs to ensure health and safety
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function, social interaction, and personal growth
- Follow safe patient lifting practices and manual handling procedures to prevent injuries for both clients and staff
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, behavioral observations, and health status updates
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to coordinate care plans and address individual needs
- Ensure a clean, safe environment by assisting with housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and meal preparation
Qualifications
- MUST HAVE OREGON DRIVERS LICENSE AND INSURANCE, able to pass a full drug screening including THC and be over the age of 21.
- Prior assisted living or long-term care experience is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, geriatrics, and behavior management techniques
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles safely when transporting clients or running errands
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to client care
- Physical ability to perform some heavy lifting and assist with resident transfers as needed
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and client communication strategies
