The Role

Our client in the financial industry is looking to recruit a Corporate Finance Officer.

We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity with our client in the banking industry, who is currently looking for a skilled Corporate Finance Officer to join their team. As a Corporate Finance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the bank’s corporate finance activities and contributing to its overall financial success.

Key Purpose The purpose of this role is to regulate listed companies on the stock exchange and do Examination of Circulars issued to shareholders to ensure all listed companies are in line with Listings Requirements

Skills and Experience

Qualification

Required:

Matric (Essential)

Degree in Accounting/Finance/Law (Essential)

CA(SA)/LLB preferable

Experience

Required:

Minimum of 3 years working experience; advising on listings requirements or corporate finance advantageous

Corporate finance experience would be an advantage

Key Responsibilities:

Results Delivery

Regulate the South African listed environment by ensuring that companies adhere to the listing requirements

Ensure that the submission process stays within time limits and standards by abiding to Listing regulations

Provide specialist input by ensuring compliance with the listings requirements

Provide specialist inputs by advising on the listings Requirements, checking contents of financial reports to ensure compliance with Listing Requirements, liaising with companies, transfer secretaries auditors, both in writing and telephonically on a daily basis

Provide strategic thinking and contributions to crafting of department business plan based on professional knowledge and experience, to ensure delivery of focus areas for the year in support of departmental strategy

Contribute to crafting of business plans to ensure delivery of focus areas for the year in support of the business strategy

Ensure system, products or projects delivered contributes to improve client service by providing input on budgets, resources required and process based on the understanding of costs, business objectives and relationship with external suppliers and stakeholders.

Apply cost effectiveness principles in planning and delivery to contribute to achievement of divisional financial targets

Provide input into the formalization for the divisional budget

Build strategic Industry/ Global network of thought leaders and relationships utilizing social media, attending and presenting at conferences and training interventions;

Understand and meet client’s needs by continuous communication with sponsors on the listings process

Build sponsor relationships by communicating in a professional manner and by addressing any issues that arise effectively

Be consistent towards clients by conducting process according to checklists to ensure all Listings Requirements have been complied with;

Attend meetings on a daily basis to discuss company’s situations in order for all Corporate Finance Officers to provide input and provide a consistent approach and outcome. The meeting also enables the CFO team to obtain a better understanding of the client’s situation and need

Build networks that are of use to the sponsors by attending functions/ meetings to improve the brand when dealing with the sponsor and the listed client

Transformation and Innovation Contribution

Analyze, research, develop and implement improvement/ innovative ideas and value adding solutions contributing to divisional and results
