Job Overview
Engineering Support Personnel, Inc. is seeking dynamic and dedicated Contract Instructors and support personnel to join our team upon winning the U.S. Navy Engineering Contractor Instructional Services program. As a Contractor Instructor, you will play a vital role in equipping diverse learners with practical skills and knowledge through engaging classroom instruction.
Responsibilities
CI services provide classroom and laboratory instruction and assess competence in defined subject areas, effectively operating Government-furnished simulators, Technical Training Equipment (TTE), and computer-based training systems as training tools. Specific responsibilities include:
- a) Instructional Preparation: Prepare classrooms/workstations/labs prior to instruction, including equipment set-up and safety checks ensuring availability of all required instructional materials.
- b) Equipment Maintenance: Perform operational checks of training equipment, devices, and aids; report deficiencies (preventative/corrective maintenance) and unsafe conditions in writing to the TA and COR immediately.
- c) Material Management: Maintain an adequate inventory of written instructional materials and student forms required for each classroom/seat/lab.
- d) Facility Management: Open and secure training spaces and/or buildings as applicable at the end of the day.
- e) Technology Integration: Utilize Automated Electronic Classrooms (AECs), Personal Data Assistants (PDAs), Presentation Technology Classrooms (PTCs), Video Teaching and Teleconference (VTT), Learning Resource Center (LRCs), and Learning Management System (LMS), to deliver course content, teach, test, or remediate in applicable courses; coordinate implementation of new AECs/PTCs with the Government.
- f) Competency Maintenance: Maintain instructional competencies meeting SWSC standards (NETCINST 1500.5D series minimum), be familiar with learning databases (e.g., CeTARS, CPM, Authoring).
- g) Classroom Instruction: Lead group-paced instruction using official curricula including Instructor Guides, Student Guides, and technical manuals (hard copy or digitized).
- h) Laboratory Instruction: Provide certified CI to train in a lab using actual equipment, workstations or mock-ups; supporting Military or civilian Instructors in a laboratory environment with students while serving as a safety representative.
- i) Learner-Centric Support: Assist students in a learner-centric environment through web-delivered content using computer workstations in workspaces, fleet concentration areas, and resident schoolhouses.
- j) Discrepancy Reporting: Report material discrepancies, unsafe conditions or items preventing instruction via the TA and COR immediately.

Qualifications
Qualifications vary for each position, but for most instructor positions those are:
- Instructor Certification: Shall possess one (1) of the following:
- Graduate from the Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) (CIN: A-012-0077) (NEC 9502/805A); OR Equivalent instructor training certification such as the Emergency Services Instructor I certification, based on NFPA 1041.
- Technical Expertise: A minimum of three (3) years of practical, hands-on technical experience directly related to the subject matter being taught.
- Military Training Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience working within a Military Training Environment
- Functional Area Certification: Shall possess current and valid instructor certifications(s) relevant to their specific functional area of instruction (e.g., NETC requirements, professional certifications related to the subject matter)
- Instructional Competency: Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency

Pay: $21.00 – $50.00 per hour
