Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Dietary Department. The CDM ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, supervises dietary staff, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and ensures that residents receive nutritious, well-balanced meals tailored to their dietary needs and preferences.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and supervise all dietary operations in accordance with regulatory standards (Title 22, CMS, and local health department regulations).
- Manage and train dietary staff, including scheduling, evaluations, and ongoing education.
- Collaborate with Registered Dietitian, Nursing, and Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to meet residents’ nutritional needs.
- Ensure all menus are nutritionally adequate, therapeutic diets are accurately prepared, and resident preferences are honored.
- Oversee kitchen sanitation, infection control, and food storage practices.
- Conduct meal service rounds and ensure quality food presentation and portion control.
- Maintain accurate records for food production, inventory, and purchasing within budget guidelines.
- Participate in QA/QAPI and Safety Committee meetings as required.
- Adhere to all facility policies, including those related to safety, infection control, and resident rights.
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification REQUIRED.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a healthcare or long-term care dietary management role.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of federal and state dietary regulations (Title 22, CMS).
- ServSafe Certification preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with residents, families, and staff.
