Responsibilities
- Safely operate your cargo van along designated FedEx routes, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups
- Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while following safe lifting practices
- Manage route schedules efficiently, adhering to traffic regulations and company policies
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups
- Use mobile devices or GPS systems to navigate routes accurately and update delivery statuses in real-time
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to maintain optimal condition and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and weight handling guidelines to ensure compliance during all operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations involving manual handling and heavy lifting
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or box trucks is highly desirable
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and commercial trucks if applicable
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, and safe lifting practices
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and weight handling standards in the workplace
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude during interactions with clients
- Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation and communication purposes
- Prior experience with delivery driver roles involving load & unload procedures and adherence to safety protocols
