Duties
- Decorate cakes and baked goods with intricate designs, fondant, icing, and other decorative elements to meet customer specifications and bakery standards
- Prepare cakes, pastries, and other baked items according to established recipes and food safety guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, piping tools, and decorating supplies efficiently and safely
- Package finished products carefully for presentation and transport, ensuring freshness and visual appeal
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by following sanitation protocols and food safety procedures
- Assist in food preparation tasks including dough preparation, pastry assembly, and ingredient measurement using basic math skills
- Provide excellent customer service by discussing decoration options and ensuring customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry preparation, or food production within a bakery or restaurant setting
- Strong knife skills and proficiency with decorating tools such as piping bags, spatulas, molds, and fondant cutters
- Knowledge of baking techniques, dough preparation, food handling, and food safety management practices
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume production environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to follow recipes precisely and adhere to food industry standards
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively in a fast-paced culinary setting
- Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
- Prior catering or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for culinary arts is essential
